March Special Election: Measure A - Tuesday, March 4, 2025
Voters will decide on Measure A, which would let the Board of Supervisors remove an elected Sheriff for cause with a four-fifths vote until 2028. This measure could shift power from the people to the Board, giving them more control over law enforcement leadership.

Development on Downtown Parking Lots webpage
As a part of the 2023-2031 Housing Element the city identified eight downtown parking lots as potential sites to build affordable housing. The city can not force private owned landowners to build any housing. The city only has control over city owned land. The city is now exploring development on some of the parking lots.
